Norwegian distribution: The species is known from a few localities in the limestone areas in the lowlands of southeastern Norway - Counties:: He, Bu, Te. - Vegetation regions: Boreonemoral. - Altitude: From about sea-level to 90 m

World distribution: So far only reported from the Czech Republic (two localities), Germany (one locality) and Norway

Ecology: The species grows on sunny, south- to west-facing surfaces of calcareous rocks. It is often associated with other rare cyanophilic lichens, e.g. Collema multipartitum and Thyrea confusa

Threats: No threats recorded

Status: Apparently a very rare species restricted to the finest limestone localities. Two sites in geological reserves
