The threat categories follow the
IUCN threat categories, for Norway with the
modifications of Direktoratet for Naturforvaltning (1992); i.e. with the addition of categories
V+ (In need of monitoring: "Taxa which are at present not 'Vulnerable' or
'Rare', but where the causal threats are the same") and A (taxa for which
Norway has special responsibility).

V+: In need of monitoring
R: Rare
I: Indeterminate (belonging in E, V or V+)
K: Insufficiently known (possibly belonging in E, V or V+)
A: Special responsibility
