Norwegian distribution: The species is known from a few localities in the continental valley of southern Norway - Counties:: Op. - Vegetation regions: southern to northern boreal. - Altitude: 680 - 1100 m

World distribution: The species occurs in Norway, central Europe and Asia. A closely related species (or subspecies) is known from South America

Ecology: In Norway, it grows on calciferous soil in open, sun-exposed, south- to west-facing slopes

Threats: Sites in pastures may be threatened by trampling of cattle or sheep

Status: There are few sites and only few specimens have been found in each site. Although being small and easily overlooked, the species is apparently very rare.

Notes: The site Veslgrimsi has not been located in the field. The locality Berge may be the same as Åbakken, and the species has not been relocated at Vistdal.
