Abstract

Alm, T. & Often, A. 1998. En masseforekomst av korsandemat Lemna trisulca i Deatnu/Tana, Finnmark. Blyttia 56: 102-107.
A large stand of Lemna trisulca in Deatnu/Tana, Finnmark.

Lemna trisulca is reported from a species-rich oxbow lake (Suolovárláddu, 9 m a.s.l.) in the major Deatnu/Tana river valley of East Finnmark, North Norway. Situated at 70°19' N, this is the northernmost occurrence recorded so far, filling in a gap between the previously known sites in Finnmark, in Guovdageaidnu/Kautokeino (interior W Finnmark) and Sør-Varanger (SE Finnmark). The species was found in large quantities, forming pure stands or growing among other limnophytes. All specimens were submerged and attached to the bottom substrate or other plants; this seems to be the species’ predominant growth habit in Finnmark. No flowering was observed. Flowering specimens have only been found once in Norway, in W Finnmark 1983.
