Abstract

Hassel, K. & Løe, G. 1998. To nye funn av den rødlista levermosen fossegrimemose Herbertus stramineus. Blyttia 56: 177-183.
Two new finds of the red-listed liverwort Herbertus stramineus.

In 1997 two new finds of Herbertus stramineus were made in the county of Sogn og Fjordane. The locality at Vågsvarden is the new northernmost locality for the species in Norway. Herbertus stramineus is now reported from 18 localities in the western part of Norway, of these 15 were visited in 1996 and 1997, the species was not refound at four of these. The Norwegian localities can be divided into three categories: 1) spray areas close to waterfalls (4 localities), 2) humid rocks in the area for highest precipitation (10 localities) and 3) exposed cliffs at the coast (4 localities). The new locality in Bortnedalen belongs to category 2), whereas the one from Vågsvarden belongs to category 3). H. stramineus is cathegorised as vulnerable (VU) in the Norwegian list of threatened bryophytes, and according to the present study that seems reasonable.
