Buxbaumia viridis: New records, distribution and status in Norway.

Buxbaumia viridis is a bryophyte species on the European Red List, but currently treated as data deficient in Norway according to the national red list. Here we present 28 new records of the species from 7 counties, with description of the localities in the county of Møre og Romsdal, from which it is recorded for the first time. At the localities in Møre og Romsdal the species is found on rotten logs mainly in deciduous forest. This is in contrast to the earlier view that this is mainly a species of Picea abies forest in Norway.
