Excursions
The geology and vegetation around Steinkjer are varied and complex and the excursions will reflect this variety. The Steinkjer area is among other things famous for its spruce-pine forests on calcareous ground with a rich flora of orchids. Several excursions will go to these types of forests beside to forest reserves of different kind, see Excursion Program.
Among these we will emphasize boreal rainforests, which for years have been explored by lichenologists, but little is known about the fungi which we hope to rectify during the congress.
