Abstract: 3 tables. 1 figure. [Caribou studied are broad spectrum grazers specializing on upland monocots and very few lichens. Thamnolia vermicularis, Cetraria nivalis, Cladonia sp. and Peltigera sp. were identified from rumen contents. The low standing crop of lichens in most high arctic areas precludes their use as a major food source for the caribou.]
