Abstract: Dermatocarpon tomentulosum is newly described from North America and the Bahama Islands. This species is characterized by a lower cortex which bears a tomentum of moniliform hyphae. It is closely related to D. moulinsii and D. schaechtelinii, but differs from both in bearing delicate, linear hyphae on the lower surface of the thallus, and not rhizinomorphs.
