["None of the lichens survived a total dose in excess of 1x10-6 r; however, a total dose of 3.1 x 10-5 was required to produce a 50% reduction in the numbers of thalli as compared to the controls. This supports the thesis that the crustose type lichens are more resistant to radiation than other forms of lichens."]
