Abstract: 7 figures. [Namakwa gen. nov. is characterized by the presence of usnic acid, pseudocyphellae, uniseriate spores and bifusiform conidia. The new genus is found in South Africa and is closely related to Xanthoparmelia. New: Namakwa gen. nov., N. exornata (Zahlbr.) comb. nov.]
