Abstract: 6 fig. [The author concludes that the ascomata sometimes found associated with the squamules of Normandina pulchella do not belong to a parasymbiont but are actually produced by the lichen itself, which he therefore places in the Verrucariaceae. A total of three species are recognized as belonging to Normandina, and a key to their identification is presented. New: N. erichsenii (Keissler) comb. nov., N. simodense (Asahina) comb. nov.]
