Abstract

Fremstad, E. 2000. Gråselje Salix cinerea L. i Nord-Trøndelag. Blyttia 58: 117-119.
Grey Willow Salix cinerea L. in Nord-Trøndelag county, Central Norway.

Grey Willow Salix cinerea L. has an eastern distribution in Norway. It is also southern, extending northwards to the central parts of Gudbrandsdalen and Østerdalen valleys in East Norway, except for an old record from Verdal in Nord-Trøndelag, Central Norway. Recently it has been recorded from two sites in Nord-Trøndelag, 260-310 km north of the East Norwegian sites. The distances to Swedish sites, in Jämtland, are much shorter (45-100 km, perhaps even less). The grey willow in Nord-Trøndelag may be due to long distance dispersal from Sweden.
