Vascular plants on Mt. Geitskallen, Rollag, Buskerud county, SE Norway.

According to litterature sources, knowledge of the vascular flora in the Numedal valley in south-eastern Norway is considered to be poor. This is probably due to the fact that the area comprises acidic bedrock, and therefore the area has been little investigated. One exception is the amount of fieldwork carried out in the area by Finn Wischmann. Mount Geitskallen lies in a northern boreal forest landscape, and has a rich vascular flora with both alpine and southern species. The low number of weed species may indicate pristine forest conditions. This paper expresses the need for further investigations of the flora in Numedal.
